North Platte Public Schools had some visitors in town promoting an exciting program that allows paraeducators to earn their teaching degrees through Chadron State College, while working for NPPS. Funding for this initiative are available from the efforts of legislation and a partnership from NDE and the National Center for Grow Your Own.
Nebraska Education Commissioner Dr. Maher and officials from Chadron State College visited Lincoln Elementary to meet with paraeducators, NPPS administration, and the media to promote Nebraska teacher apprenticeship programs. This is a great program that brings people to the teaching profession who have demonstrated a passion for education and working with kids.
